It’s my immense pleasure to welcome you all to our College website.
I take this opportunity to express heartfelt gratitude to the great visionary founders of this College, who laid the foundation way back in 1978. My sincere appreciations are also due to the gallant predecessors, dedicated teachers, untiring non-teaching staff and all the past and present students of this College.
Govt. Saiha College is the one and only institution of higher education in the whole of the District. It has many peculiar features, found mainly in its inherent challenges, which make the College a unique one. Amidst many, one striking characteristic, which the College needs to face always is the urge to produce ‘quality output’ in the absence of ‘choice’ while taking the inputs. Being the lone institution in this fur-flung area covering the entire Mara Autonomous District Council and part of Lai Autonomous District Council, the College can not have any cut-off marks, rigid criteria, strict time schedule during admission and practically turns into the lender of the last resort.
However, our team of committed teachers, bearing in mind the motto of the College, viz., TO GRADE UP, has been constantly facing the challenges in all forms and has made a track record of producing a galaxy of successful alumni over the period. We believe that education is the effective medium of social transformation. Education creates motivation for progress and brings revolution in the ideas necessary for all round development. It teaches honesty, inspires patriotism, enhances social prestige and promotes economic development. When people are educated, we not only get teachers, professionals and executives but more importantly citizens who are aware, sensitive and responsible. It makes people place social good above personal gains and transforms human being into a noble soul and an asset to the universe. Thus, to ensure the true spirit of education we accord prime importance to the behavioural discipline, moral integrity and cognitive development of the students during their course of study in the College.
